Tammy Reneé Barr, born on July 12, 1961, in Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Largo, Florida. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her, embodying a spirit of kindness and warmth that touched countless lives.
Tammy dedicated over 30 years of her life to McDonald’s, where she earned multiple Employee of the Month awards, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her work and the relationships she fostered with her regular customers. She was not just an employee; she became a beloved presence, known for her genuine care and affection towards those who frequented the establishment.
A woman of profound faith, Tammy's personality shined through her amazing ability to connect with others. Her caring nature and kindness were evident in every interaction, making her a cherished figure in her community. Friends and family will remember her not just for her professional achievements but for the depth of her character and the love she shared so freely.
Tammy found joy in simple pleasures, having a particular fondness for Disney, especially Winnie-the-Pooh. She enjoyed romantic comedies and Hallmark movies, often finding laughter and comfort in their stories. Additionally, she embraced the digital age through her interest in YouTube, where she explored her passions and shared her light-hearted spirit.
Tammy Reneé Barr is survived by her husband, David James Barr; her children, Victoria Nicole Barr, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Barr, and David Michael Barr; her brother-in-law, Bryan Thomas Barr; her sister-in-law, Theresa Marie Bassett; her father-in-law, Jay K. Barr; and friends who were like family: Kathy Burrell, Lori Locke, Kathryn Brinkley, and Mindy Millar.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Betty Jane Harmon and Frank Shay Harmon, and her mother-in-law, Hazel Jeanette Barr.
To honor her memory, a Celebration of Life service will be held on January 17, 2026, at Beaming Hope Church in Largo, Florida, starting at 1:00 PM. A burial service will follow on January 19, 2026, at Sarasota National Cemetery, commencing at 11:30 AM.
Tammy Reneé Barr will be deeply missed, remembered for her genuine heart, her dedication to her community, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone around her.
