Simone Horenstein

Simone Horenstein born on June 18, 1937 passed away on July 24, 2026 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Daughter of Benjamin (z”l) and Vita (z”l) Karpes of Paterson, New Jersey. Beloved wife of Peter, mother of Nina, Avrom and Tanya. Sister of Joan (z”l) and Ruth. Grandmother, Great Grandmother and loyal friend. Longtime resident of Rockville Centre, NY, Bohemia, NY and Isla Del Sol, St. Petersburg, Florida. Proud member of Temple B’nai Shalom of Rockville Centre and the Chai Center of Dix Hills. Loving, creative, deeply spiritual and adventurous of spirit. She will be greatly missed by so many.

A funeral service will be held at IJ Morris located at 21 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746 on Monday, July 27 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Please arrive by 1:30 as service starts promptly.

Burial will take place immediately following funeral services at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon.

Shiva will begin immediately after the burial at the home of Nina and Larry on Monday after the burial until 8:30pm, and continue Tuesday - Thursday 4-8:30pm and Friday 12-3pm.
