Sidney Magden, born on October 23, 1930, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026. Sidney’s life was marked by warmth, kindness, and a perpetual smile that brightened the lives of all who knew him. A man deeply loved by family and friends, he is remembered for his genuine interest in history, often spending time at the library, and his passion for businesses and sightseeing.
Sidney’s interests were varied and vibrant. He enjoyed swimming and attending the health club, pursuits that reflected his dedication to health and well-being. His love for travel was evident through numerous cruises, land vacations, and visits to family members, creating cherished memories along the way. Shopping brought him joy, especially when sending thoughtful gifts to his beloved son, Brian. A devoted family man, Sidney was notably protective of his sister Lenore, demonstrating the strength of his familial bonds.
Sidney’s character shone through in his relationships. He shared a remarkable 74-year marriage with his spouse, Shirley Magden, whose partnership was a cornerstone of his life. He is survived by Shirley; his son, Brian Magden (Binyomin); his sister, Lenore Krantz; his sister-in-law, Loretta Magden; as well as loving nieces and nephews: Mark Kimmelman (Eve), Beth Lochin (Tom), David Magden (Inchi), Pam Goldberg, and Hallie Magden (Virginia). Sidney also leaves behind great friend Russel Siegel, who was not only a close companion to Sidney but also to his son Brian. He was preceded in death by his brothers Herbie Magden and Melvin Magden.
A graveside service to honor Sidney’s life will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, located at 12905 Wild Acres Rd, Largo, Florida 33773. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together in tribute to a man whose presence was a source of comfort and joy.
Sidney Magden’s legacy is one of warmth, unwavering loyalty, and a zest for life that touched many. He will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were fortunate to know him.
