In Loving Memory of Sharlene Harriet Sakol (née Morris)
Sharlene Harriet Sakol, 94, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 19, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sharlene graduated from Aliquippa High School and went on to attend Pennsylvania State University, where she was part of the first class of women admitted following World War II.
In 1950, she married the love of her life, Ronald Sakol. They shared 57 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in family, business, and shared values. Sharlene worked hand-in-hand with Ronald through his many entrepreneurial endeavors, including pharmacies and medical supply businesses, always bringing her strength, insight, and unwavering support.
An avid golfer for over 65 years, Sharlene also had a passion for games—she was known for her love (and competitive spirit) in mahjong and cards. A true world traveler, she explored all seven continents and took more than 80 cruises, embracing adventure wherever she went.
Sharlene was a devoted and active member of Temple Beth-El and Hadassah, deeply committed to her faith and community.
She is survived by her daughter, Lonnie Kiracofe (husband Richard); her son, Daryl Sakol (wife Emily); grandsons Brian Kiracofe (wife Kristin) and Jason Kiracofe; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Taylor.
She will be remembered for her boundless energy, adventurous spirit, deep devotion to her family, and strong Jewish values.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo, FL 33773.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharlene’s memory may be made to Hadassah, Temple Beth-El of St. Petersburg, or Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services.
Heritage Funeral Care, David and Steven Gross, Directors, are serving the family.
