Ronald Jay Teitelbaum, 71, of Palm Harbor Fl, formerly of Teaneck, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Ron was born on August 6, 1955, in Hackensack, NJ, to Edwin Teitelbaum and Anda Waxman. He grew up in Teaneck and attended Teaneck High School, where he formed lifelong friendships with people who became like family. He was also grateful to reconnect with many old friends over the years.
Ron spent his professional life in the insurance industry, first working with his father while in college and later going into business for himself as President of Preferred Benefits Insurance Agency. His ability to connect with people made him a natural and gifted salesman. He built a long and successful career by genuinely caring about the people he served, and many of his clients became longtime friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Teitelbaum; his children, Keren Marshall (Jeff) and Eric Teitelbaum (Becca); and his grandchildren, Andi and Evan Marshall, who brought him immeasurable joy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anda Waxman; his father, Edwin Teitelbaum; his brother, Kenneth Teitelbaum; and his sister, Nanci Teitelbaum.
Ron was a devoted husband and father and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Nothing made him happier or prouder than showing off his grandchildren, often to complete strangers.
Outside of work, Ron loved sports, music, golf, travel, and being around people. He was a die-hard Jets fan and played fantasy football long before it became mainstream. He was an avid golfer and loved live music, especially a great guitar solo.
Ron enjoyed good food, good company, and good conversation. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and had a way of making people feel comfortable, as though they had known him for years. He was a storyteller with an incredible sense of humor and always had something to share.
He also loved to travel and shared many unforgettable trips with family and friends, often taking in the sunsets he loved so much. The beach was one of his favorite places, and he eventually moved to Florida to be close to his children and grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10 AM Friday, August 21, 2026 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Ron’s memory to The National Kidney Foundation.
May his memory always be a blessing.
Heritage Funeral Care, David and Steven Gross Directors, Largo, Florida are serving the family.
