Reva M. Pearlstein

Reva Miriam Pearlstein 76 of Nashville, Tennessee formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away September 26, 2026 in Nashville.

Reva was born on December 16, 1949, in Schenectady, New York, to J. Leonard Azneer (z”l) and Pearl Azneer(z”l). She was the sister of Jay Azneer and Ira Azneer. Reva attended Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, where she met her husband, Leslie Pearlstein (z”l). They later lived in Louisville, Kentucky, and Shreveport, Louisiana, before settling in St. Petersburg, Florida, where they raised their family.

In 2025, Reva moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she became an active member of West End Synagogue and the Nashville Jewish community and created meaningful friendships in her new home. Reva was the matriarch of her family and a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was an active leader and volunteer in the Jewish community throughout her life. She was a founder of the Pinellas County Jewish Day School, served as president of Congregation B’nai Israel and worked for Israel Bonds. She was a skilled and determined fundraiser and gave significant time and energy to the organizations and communities she supported.

Reva is survived by her children, Jessica (Sam) Averbuch of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jody (Yoav) Rappaport of Tampa, Florida; and her grandchildren, Ilan and Naomi Rappaport and Dustin and Toby Averbuch.

Reva will be remembered for her commitment to her family, her leadership and her many years of service to the Jewish community. In lieu of flowers, donations to Jewish Theological Seminary, West End Synagogue, Congregation B’nai Israel would be appreciate by Reva and her family.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Congregation B'nai Israel, 300 58th Street North, St. Petersburg with Rabbi Philip Weintraub, officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road in Largo, Florida

Shiva is postponed until after Simchat Torah, due to the holiday of Sukkot.

The family will be gathering Wednesday night to observe the holiday, share memories and have a minyan at Shelly Lynn's home at 7:30 PM., 7881 Oliver Rd, Seminole, FL 33777.

Thursday night, the family will gather at Jody and Yoav Rappaport's home. Minyan will be at 7:30 PM:,4220 Water Oaks Lane, Tampa, FL 33618.
