Matthew Richards - Silverman, a dedicated and esteemed figure in luxury real estate sales, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on July 14, 1976, Matthew's professional journey was marked by his unwavering commitment to his clients, earning him the prestigious top salesman award in his field.
Matthew was known for his outgoing personality and charming smile, which could light up any room he entered. He brought joy and warmth to everyone around him, and his positive demeanor left a lasting impression on both clients and friends alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Matthew had a deep love for animals, particularly his two beloved dogs, Cora and Sybil, and an affinity for turtles and birds. His passion for nature and wildlife often led him to ZooTampa, where he found comfort and joy in observing numerous animals.
Matthew cherished international travel, with a special fondness for Tel Aviv, Acapulco and Isla Mujeres. These destinations became memories of happiness and adventure, reflecting his excitement for life and the beauty of the world around him.
Matthew was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom in Clearwater, FL, where his faith and community were an important part of his life.
Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Donna Richards. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted husband, Marc Silverman, with whom he shared a remarkable bond since their marriage on May 5, 2001. Matthew is also survived by his sister-in-law, Renee Silverman (Hank Tenenbaum), brother-in-law, Stephen Silverman, sister, Crista Herrmann, father, Steven Richards, and his best friends, Shelly Luis, Andy and Nikki Nechtem. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews: Daniel, Ashlee, Joshua, Caroline, Rebekkah, Andrew, Lucas, Grant, and great niece Harrison. He will also be remembered by many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in the United States and Israel, too numerous to name individually.
Matthew Richards - Silverman was a remarkable individual whose legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the love he shared. His spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
