LaVerne Demitras

LaVerne V. Demitras, “Nanny,” age 87, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. She was born on April 23, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Louis and Elsie Ebosh.

LaVerne dedicated 28 years to Ed Morse Cadillac, where she was admired for her professionalism, work ethic, and warmth. In her free time, she loved shopping, spending time in St. Petersburg, attending her church, and most of all, being with her granddaughters.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimmy Amato, and her husband, Mike; her cherished granddaughters, Mickey Amato and Chelsea Pacheco, and Chelsea’s husband, Anthony, and their son, Tanner; and her sister, Linda Mencke, and her husband, Paul.

LaVerne will be remembered for her strong faith, beautiful smile, and joy for life, as well as her love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
