Larry D. Goldstein

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Larry David Goldstein after a long, prosperous life full of joy, love and accomplishment. He was 86.

Larry was born on July 31, 1939 in Philadelphia where he lived through college and graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1961. After college he moved to Florida and attended the University of Florida Law school and subsequently transferred to Stetson University College of Law where he attained his Juris Doctor in 1964. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1964, to the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida in 1965, and to the United States Supreme Court in 1972. Larry built a distinguished legal career spanning more than six decades in the Tampa Bay area and was board certified in Civil Trial and Workers’ Compensation for the majority of that time. When the State of Florida began board certification, he became one of the first to achieve board certification in two areas simultaneously. A legal milestone that he was so proud to the day he passed.

Throughout his career, Larry was known for his work in civil trial litigation, personal injury law, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, and insurance law. He earned a reputation for his sharp intellect, steady judgment, and unwavering dedication to his clients. He was a trusted advisor and respected figure within the legal and local community. Larry excelled in his legal career like no other due to his dedication and focus on helping people. It became his hobby.

Larry was predeceased by his Father Albert Goldstein, his mother Betty Goldstein, his wife Linda Goldstein, his sister Sonia Fader and his son Darrin Goldstein. He leaves behind a loving family and numerous lives he has touched to cherish his memory his memory including his children Adam (Sarah) Goldstein and Jason (Jennifer) Goldstein, nephew Bobby Fader and niece Eileen Geary.

He was a beloved grandfather (big pops) to Michaela Goldstein, Michael Goldstein, Ashlyn Goldstein and Seth Goldstein. His love, sense of family, and generous nature had a profound impact on their lives, and these values will guide them as they remember him.

Larry’s huge heart and unwillingness to leave someone in need was an impression on everyone that knew him. His absence will always be felt, but his spirit will live on forever.
