Kenneth Edward 'Kenny' Wright 85 of Clearwater, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on May 31, 2025, at Westchester Gardens in Clearwater, Florida. Born on August 13, 1939, in Frankfort, Indiana, Kenny lived a life rich with experiences and dedication to serving others.
Kenny's career was marked by his time as a former coroner in Frankfort, where he provided care and compassion during some of life’s most challenging moments. He later worked as a funeral director assistant and ambulance attendant at the former Hartman Funeral Home in Frankfort alongside Luke Hartman. After relocating to Florida, he continued his dedication to service at David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, where he served as a funeral director assistant and limousine driver. His commitment to his work, combined with his wonderful sense of humor and approachable personality, allowed him to connect deeply with those he served.
In addition to his professional contributions, Kenny was an avid storyteller who cherished reminiscing about the past. He had a profound love for his dogs and found joy in capturing the world through his lens as a talented photographer, earning numerous awards for his work. A private pilot, he enjoyed the freedom of flight and cared deeply about educating himself on a range of topics, including world affairs, travel, and politics, often spending hours engaged in his computer.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Donita, affectionately known as 'Doni'; his son, Rev. Kenneth E. Wright II (Cassandra); his daughter, Tammy Sheridan (Shan); his brother, Terry Wright; his sisters, Barbara Wright-Day and Shirley Scott (Bill), his step- daughter Aimee Hardy, his step-sons Matthew Turney and Paul Turney (Francine) and several cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis E. Wright and Lena Hill Wright.
Kenneth E. 'Kenny' Wright leaves behind cherished memories for his family and friends, who will remember his warmth, laughter, and unwavering spirit. His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
