Kenneth Nathan Wides passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in St.Petersburg, Florida.
He was born on February 14, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents moved with Ken to Pass-A-Grille on St.Pete Beach when he was eleven months old. Ken proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, an experience that reflected his commitment to service and community. Over the years, he built a successful career as a financial advisor, where he was known for his integrity, insight, and ability to guide his clients through their financial journeys. Beyond his professional achievements, Ken was deeply passionate about life's simple joys. He relished his 19 years of coaching Little League Baseball sharing and inspiring young athletes with his knowledge and passion for the game. An avid runner, he completed two New York City Marathons, embodying his perseverance and vitality. Above all, he loved living on St. Pete Beach, finding endless peace in its rhythms, and would never live anywhere else.
Ken was a devoted husband to Elaine, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a loving family comprising of two daughters Sara Nicholson (Ed) and Shana Angers (David), as well as four sons Joshua (Nicole), Adam (Brittany), Jesse (Staci), and Zachary. He was the proud grandfather to Reid, Corbin, and Eva Nicholson; James Angers; Harper and Hanna Wides; and Lincoln and William Wides. He was a brother to Susan Burnett (Jim Frishe), uncle to Alison Nichols (Roger) and Jennifer Kaminsky (Jay), and great uncle to Rowan Kaminsky. The love he had for his family was evident in the joy he took in every moment spent with them. A longtime member of Temple Beth El in St. Petersburg, Ken was involved in his community and valued the bonds he created there.
He is predeceased by his parents Gladys and Vernon Wides, who instilled values in him that he carried throughout his life.
Ken will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Graveside service will be at 10 AM, Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road in Largo, Fl.
A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held later on Thursday, August 21 from 4-6 PM at the home of Elaine Wides, 290 N. Julia Circle, St. Pete Beach, FL
