Judy Rose Kusnitz

Judy Rose Kusnitz of Largo, FL passed away on October 16, 2025 at the age of 83.

Judy was born on December 16, 1941 in Bridgeport, CT, the youngest child of Sydney and Janet Rose. As a child, Judy loved to dance and sing. As an adult, her beautiful voice could often be heard throughout the house singing along with Barbra Streisand, her all-time favorite music artist.

While living in Bridgeport, Judy met a boy from Georgia who was visiting family. Judy fell in love with that southern boy and at the very young age of 17, Judy married Joel. During their 65-year union, Judy and Joel built a beautiful life in Monroe, CT where they resided until moving to FL in 1998.

Judy was all about family, particularly her three children. There was literally nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She often worked two jobs yet always made time to attend all school and sporting events and to cheer her kids on. Judy loved entertaining and cooking, especially at the holidays where she would create feast after feast to the delight of friends and family. Italian food was her absolute favorite cuisine to make, but her cheesecakes were so good she used to sell them to a local restaurant! Judy loved her bountiful gardenias, strolling through arts and crafts shows, going to the zoo, taking day trips to just about anywhere and reveling in the joy her grandchildren brought to her life. Judy is predeceased by her parents, older brother Alan (Patty) and husband Joel.

She is survived by her three children, Michael (Suzanne), Jeffrey (Petra) and Abby (Robert), her six grandchildren (Matthew, David, Sarah, Asher, Shayna and Dov) and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo, Florida 33773 on Sunday, October 19th at 2:00PM.
