Joan Redisch

Joan Redisch, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 9, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, Joan was known for her fun-loving spirit and her unwavering compassion for those around her. Her legacy is marked by her devotion to family, friends, and her community, making her a shining light in the lives of all who knew her.

As a previous owner of a Baskin-Robbins shop that started in 1975 in Patchogue, NY, Joan brought joy to countless individuals not only through her delicious creations but also as one of the cake decorators at the store. Her culinary talents were complemented by her warm personality, as she was always there to bring food and comfort to family and friends.

Joan's commitment to serving others extended beyond her professional life. She volunteered for 20 years at Menorah Life, where her kindness and selflessness left a lasting impact on many. In recognition of her dedication, she received the Kallah Torah award in 1993 and the Women Achievement award in 1998, honors that reflected her commitment to her faith and community.

In her personal interests, Joan found joy in various hobbies including bingo, knitting, ceramics, puzzles and games. She had a particular affinity for movies, with "Secretariat" and "Seabiscuit" holding a special place in her heart, embodying her love for storytelling and connection.

Joan's family meant the world to her. She is survived by her beloved children: daughters Beth Ann and Hope, and son Steven. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Philip, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and love.

As we remember Joan Redisch, we celebrate a woman who lived her life with joy and purpose. Her kindness, creativity, and dedication to helping others will continue to inspire those who had the honor to know her.

Heritage Funeral Care, David and Steven Gross, Directors, are serving the family.
