Ilana Ozer Hecht

Ilana Ozer Hecht was born on June 2, 1952, in Moshav Bet Ezra, a small village in southern Israel, to Juliet and Niam Ozer. She grew up in Israel alongside her beloved sister, Bella. In 1970, while attending nursing school, Ilana met Gideon, the love of her life. They married in 1975, embarking on a journey filled with love, mutual respect, and deep companionship.

In 1982, Ilana and Gideon moved to the United States for Gideon’s engineering education, initially settling in New Jersey before making Florida their permanent home. Together, they built a beautiful life, embodying the American Dream. Ilana and Gideon were blessed with three children: Adi, Jonathan, and Ron, and five grandchildren: Noah, Jordan, Henry, Sadie, and Cerina.

Ilana was a dedicated nurse, passionate about her profession. She found joy in cooking, gardening, caring for others, and participating in her community at Chabad. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family, filling her home with love and laughter. Ilana excelled in everything she did and was always eager to lend a helping hand.

After retiring, Ilana enjoyed 11 years of happiness, cherishing every moment. Her final days were spent in the comforting presence of her family, with her devoted husband Gideon and her sister Bella by her side, providing the utmost care and love.

A service to honor Ilana’s life will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo FL on Sunday, October 20th at 4pm, with Rabbi Alter Korf officiating. Shiva will follow.
