Helen F. Glauser, a cherished matriarch, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on July 30, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel Domsky and Minnie Goldstein Domsky.
Helen dedicated her early career to civil service, working alongside a U.S. Navy admiral during World War II. Her commitment to serving her country continued while working for the Veterans Administration later in her career.
Although the youngest of five siblings, Helen was the glue that held the extended family together. Her genuine nature, caring heart, and generous spirit made her home in Florida the center of all family events. Her siblings became her best friends and her nieces and nephews were like her own children. Alongside her husband, she provided care and guidance that helped shape the lives of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren throughout the years. Helen's secret to a compassionate life was to always listen without judgement and seek out the best in everyone.
This deep sense of community extended beyond her relatives. When a next-door neighbor faced serious health challenges requiring dialysis, Helen, with the support of neighbors, devoted herself daily over several years to helping that individual cope during a time when such treatments were still largely experimental.
Her kindness was matched by a vibrant involvement in her community. Into her late eighties, Helen actively volunteered in Athens, Georgia, offering her time with St. Mary's Hospital and dedicating herself to Congregation Children of Israel's Shabbat programs. She also enjoyed weekly games of Mahjong and Canasta, which brought joy and lively companionship throughout her circle of friends.
Helen is survived by her devoted sons, William Glauser (Missy) and Edward Glauser (Ann), who carry forward her legacy of love and dedication. She was also a cherished bubba to six grandchildren: Jonathan, Lauren, Ben, David, Sarah and Abigail, all of whom remember her warmth and guidance with deep affection. She valued family above all else, considering it her proudest accomplishment.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Selig “Sy” Glauser, who shared with her a magical life full of love and partnership.
Helen F. Glauser’s life was marked by unwavering devotion—to her family, her country, and her community. She leaves behind a profound legacy of compassion, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her. Her memory remains a beacon of warmth and connection for those who loved her.
Private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Largo Florida.
The family will be having a life celebration for her in North Carolina, with memorial services in Florida planned later at the time of unveiling.
