Florence Leah Franco, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of numerous communities, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born on October 6, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio, Florence's life was marked by vibrant energy, enduring kindness, and a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit that left an impact on all who knew her.
From her early years in Youngstown to the suburb of Calabasas, California where she relocated at the age of 24, Florence exhibited a passion for dance that permeated her life. Professionally trained in many styles, she not only embraced the art of dance, but also shared her talent by owning dance studios in both Ohio and Los Angeles. Florence was a dynamic and very successful businesswoman, operating a staffing firm for over two decades. She was also a restaurateur and her ventures were a testament to her keen intuition, hard work, and the entrepreneurial spirit that defined her.
Florence’s radiant presence was often highlighted by her beautiful smile and an unwavering positive outlook on life. She carried with her a spirit that never made an enemy and instead forged friendships wherever she went, endearing herself to friends and acquaintances alike. Known affectionately as a “fabulous cook,” she delighted many with her culinary talents, especially her exquisite desserts, a perfect complement to her well-known sweet tooth. Her love of fine dining and homemaking reflected a deep appreciation for the joys of life and the comfort of family.
Her journey took her from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 1996. In 2023, surrounded by sunshine, sand, friends and family a vacation home was purchased where many happy times were spent in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Throughout these transitions, Florence remained deeply devoted to her family, dedicating herself with unwavering love and commitment.
She had a true love for fashion and shopping, taking great joy in finding beautiful pieces that reflected who she was. Her closet was a reflection of that passion—so thoughtfully curated and full that it often felt like stepping into the finest of department stores.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Rondine Volpert; her son, Randall Volpert; her granddaughter, Amanda Sizemore Bulka; her grandson-in-law, Daniel Bulka; and her great-grandson, Ethan Bulka—all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
She was preceded in death by her devoted spouse, Arthur Volpert, whose loving support was a cornerstone of their lives together until his passing, which left an enduring mark on Florence's heart.
Florence Leah Franco’s life was one of generosity, resilience, and grace. Her vibrant soul, entrepreneurial success, and the countless friendships she cultivated stand as a testament to a life beautifully lived. She will be profoundly missed, but lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
