Dr. Felix Linetsky, a pioneering leader in musculoskeletal pain treatment and the visionary who coined the term “regenerative injection therapy” (RIT), has passed away. Born in Odessa, Ukraine, on January 22, 1947, Dr. Linetsky dedicated his life to medicine, beginning his studies at the young age of 15 and earning his medical degree in the USSR before relocating to the United States in 1979.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Linetsky transformed the field of pain management with his advocacy for prolotherapy and regenerative injections. His work established RIT as a groundbreaking approach to repairing musculoskeletal injuries by stimulating the body's natural healing mechanisms. Dr. Linetsky’s numerous publications, including journal articles and book chapters, have provided a foundation for the widespread adoption of RIT, particularly for treating chronic pain.
Known for his compassion and commitment to patient care, Dr. Linetsky received multiple accolades, including the Patients' Choice Award and the Compassionate Doctor Recognition. His contributions were further honored by the creation of the "Felix Linetsky Award for Excellence in Education" by the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, a testament to his lifelong dedication to advancing medical education.
Dr. Linetsky leaves behind his beloved wife, Lidia, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage, and a legacy that will continue to impact the lives of patients and healthcare providers worldwide. His vision and dedication to advancing pain management have forever enriched the medical community, and he will be deeply missed.
Graveside service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo, Florida 33773 with Rabbi Aaron Lever, officiating.
