Douglas V. Zelman, born on August 15, 1945, passed away on June 3, 2026. A man of great warmth and generosity, Douglas was known for his outgoing nature and his remarkable kindness—often described as someone who would willingly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Douglas’s professional journey was distinguished and deeply connected to the community he cherished. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from NY University School of Commerce, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Beginning his career as a builder, Douglas was instrumental in shaping many of the condominiums on Honeymoon Island, leaving a lasting imprint on the area’s residential landscape. Later, he devoted himself to residential real estate brokerage, where his expertise and commitment helped countless individuals find their homes.
Though characterized as a workaholic, Douglas also found joy and connection in his personal life. Wednesday mornings were special with family breakfasts at IHOP, moments filled with camaraderie and love that those close to him will always hold dear. He also treasured the simple pleasures of togetherness, regularly gathering with friends every Wednesday night for dinner.
Douglas is survived by his daughter Jodee Zelman, his brother Mark Zelman, and his sister-in-law Laura Zelman, all of whom carry forward his legacy with profound respect and affection.
A graveside service will be held to honor Douglas’s memory on June 7, 2026, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, located at 12905 Wild Acres Rd, Largo, FL 33773. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
