He found joy in visiting Derby Lane to watch greyhound races, embraced the thrill of football, and cherished his time living by the beach. An avid sailor, Bernie enjoyed the serenity of the sea and the adventures that came with it. He was a dedicated and supportive member of the former Congregation Beth Sholom in Gulfport and was a former member of Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg.

He was a proud grandfather to Blake, Lauren, Allison, Sammy, Jonny, and Mikey, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cheryl, with whom he shared many beautiful years.
A graveside service to honor Bernie's life will be held on October 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road in Largo, Florida, officiated by Rabbi Michael Torop.
