Barbara Myrna Bernstein, a beloved figure in her family and our community, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 91 in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Born on July 6, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, Barbara was known for her strong will and independence, traits that defined her zest and approach to life.

Throughout her years, Barbara dedicated herself to being a devoted homemaker and an active volunteer in the Jewish Community. She took great pride in her work, touching the lives of many with her warm spirit and generous heart. Her commitment to service was a reflection of her values and her desire to contribute positively to the lives of those around her.

Barbara was proud of the education she received, earning her Bachelor’s degree, which paved the way for her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and engagement in various activities. Her hobbies included playing tennis, bingo, and mahjong, pursuits through which she found joy and built lasting friendships.

She is survived by her sons, Ivan Bernstein and Bruce Bernstein (Star); her brother, Steve Quartin; grandchildren, Samantha (Jonathan) Dedea and Sarah (Bianca); and her great-grandson, Jacob Dedea. Each of them carries forward her legacy of strength, independence, and dedication to family.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Samuel, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her significant impact in her community. As those who knew her reflect on her life, they will undoubtedly hold her memory close, finding comfort in the many ways she enriched their lives.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 5, 2025 at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor with Rabbi David Weizman, officiating.
