Allen Book

Allen Book, 91, of Marion County, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday , July 14th 2026, at Hospice of Marion County.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Allen earned his Bachelor of Science degree from New York University in October 1957. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1954 to 1963.

After deciding that working in the family lumber business M Book and Sons was not the path for him, Allen worked in accounting firms in New York City and then as a self-employed accountant, running his own firm in New Jersey, Allen Book, PA, from 1959 until his retirement in 2015.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Goldberg Book, who passed away on April 20, 2016. He is survived by his devoted domestic partner, Julia Gonzalez.

He is also survived by his sister, Rhea (Book) Oremland of Clearwater, Florida; his children, Shari L. Tullo ( husband, William Tullo) and Leslie Book (wife, Valinda Garcia Book); his stepdaughter Liz Pezzulo; his grandchildren, Matthew Z. Tullo, Michael Tullo (wife Hannah Ward Tullo); Daniella R. Pezzulo, Julian R. Pezzulo, Hannah Book, Sophie Book, Charles Book (wife Hannah Book), and step-grandchildren Katherine, Alexandra, and Cassandra Latoff, and a great granddaughter Cassidy Tullo.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 12905 Wild Acres Road, Largo, FL 33773.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a hospice of your choice or E.W. & Lucille Cates House, 9505 SW 110th St, Ocala, FL 34481.
